I dont use this email much. But the Bible makes it very clear in Psalms that people will be living on the earth. Also the book of Isaiah and Revelation says the same thing. Yes, 144000 goes to heaven and the rest of God abiding people live forever as God intended the original couple to. im sorry that your friend and her family suffers from depression. The majority of witnesses i know dont suffer from mental illness and live full and happy lives. Also how would you know how many suicides are committed by a religion? The coroner doesnt list religion. So u r definitely reaching there. In fact, I dont know of any suicides and im nearly 40 years old. I hope you and friends find at you’re looking for. Im gonna go on with my wonderful God my time with the his people. p.s. if i you, i would start twith the Bible book of Genesis. Thats where you’ll find God’s original plan. The idea heavenly life didnt occur until Jesus himself resurrected to heavenly life. Thats in book of Matthew.

Do you believe God loves us? That he wants the best for us? Do you believe God is fair and just in his ways and judgements? Because for me-and I do believe God loves us and is fair and just- I can’t fathom how he would allow only 144,000 people to reside with him in Heaven and for that number to already have been completed years ago. For one, it hardly seems fair that there should be a cutoff date and those that were never even born yet have no chance at heaven NO MATTER HOW WELL they follow his teachings or behave during their lifetime. ( BTW this would mean Mother Teresa would not be entering heaven. And how many of us can lay claim to the kindness and love she presented in her lifetime) it hardly seems fair or just. The God I worship is a loving God who wants us with him. Who wants us to be as him so that we will all reside in a heaven that is loving, fair kind and just. The God I worship doesn’t limit the amount of people who can be with him. He wants us all. If this is how JW people truly believe and live, it seems they have little joy in life. I have a distant friend who is Jehovah and she and her family suffer from terrible depression a good amount of the year. They are comfortably well off money wise, they have no major illnesses or have suffered no family tragedies. Yet, the children have never married, and the family is often depressed. I worry about this friend. I understand the suicide rate is higher among JW than the general population, and if this is what they believe, I can’t blame them! There is nothing to look forward to in the life they are living. There is little to look forward to in the afterlife. I don’t judge anyone’s choice in religion. I might not agree with it, but it is their choice to make. I just don’t understand how they can interpret the Bibles teachings in this manner if they believe GOD loves us and is a just and fair GOD.

No one (absolutely no one) would go through the mind-numbing agony of sitting through so much talk of regurgitated events that (supposedly) transpired in the depths of ancient history nor would they agree to have every arena of life that may hold some decorum of “fun” ripped away to be labeled as “inappropriate” and to be counseled against. Anyone who signs up for the bag that any religion offers believes that they will be rewarded with some nutty afterlife related prize, whether it involves heaven, eternal life or a plethora of virgins…everyone is in it for something. I was raised along with my two siblings as a JW for all of my childhood years and this article strikes an all too familiar chord. As we all matured and our common sense was developed and strengthened, we all turned very strongly against nearly all the beliefs that were drilled into us through our childhoods. I give a modicum of credit to the religions that are grounded firmly in tradition as these will logically serve the purpose of keeping families and their religious communities more tightly knit but the JW organization has no such endearing traditions and has very diligently stripped away anything that may be construed as such. Handing over the reigns of your mind and actions to an organization with an agenda is never advisable and is not for those of a strong mind. However, there are so many “sheep” that are only too happy to follow even if it is to a mindless destination. As for a freeing event…turning 18 and no longer being subjected to ultra-repetitive, backward focused drivel was the most freeing experience imaginable.

We drank made and ate food and really just had a great night. Well at the end of the night I told them “thank you for a merry Christmas” with a smile. They left and then I received a lecture that I was very offensive to them by telling them that because they are JW. To which I responded then why did they come to our house to celebrate Christmas if they don’t observe Christmas? I admit that I don’t know that much about the faith being that I was raised in a very religious house and was not exposed to many other faiths but I find it troubling that I offended them so badly when they weren’t/dont fallow thier own religion. They have attended more than one parties at my home and always had a good time. The hypocrisy really is strong.

It is not a sin.
But, doing things that destroys self discipline and considered as sinful should be observed.
Just like wishing to have a new gadget is not bad,but stealing it is another story.
