Having been brought up in this cult I started regular pioneering from school so I guess I was hidden from a lot of things and one day this all came to an end when I was raped by someone I had befriended from outside “the truth”! I felt it was punishment for breaking the commandments and putting myself in danger of being alone with someone, I couldn’t speak of what happened for many weeks until I was a broken shell of the person I used to be. When I confided in a close friend she felt she had to do the right thing and inform the elders and then the torture began. What I was subject to should never be allowed, having to relive the trauma step by step to 3 cold men who were judging every word I said and demanded every single detail. I was told the story of Dinah over and over again and made to feel like I had reaped disgrace and trouble on my family. I was disfellowshipped and cast aside to deal with the aftermath myself away from any support from friends and family. At 19 years of age I had no one, everyone I had grown up with had no choice but to turn their backs and walk away. Thankfully I can look back now and understand that if this hadn’t happened I might have still been trapped in this cult thinking it was my duty to save the world, instead I found out the hard way that its a dangerous, man made cult devised to control people.

Be sure to read the post about how they actually go beyond bible law which isn’t even written for Christians today to further victimize the woman. I think publicizing this is the only way to make people understand they are not a bible-based religion and understand the danger of those on the inside still.

How she would have “shame” for having her peace of mind, confidence, and outlook on life flipped upside-down forever. Being humiliated and tortured on the terms of another for which she had no knowledge or consent. this is beyond inexcusable….it leaves me speechless. I don’t even want to think of what would happen if a “brother” was the rapist. She would be shunned and he would be exalted because of his repentance.
