FYI: Just because the elders told you they never heard of the two witness rule does not make it true. Lying for the jw’s is as natural as breathing. I witnessed a lot of lying when I was one.

I do not agree that all JW’s are responsible, as many of them know nothing of how the two witness rule is applied in child abuse cases. I was a JW on & off for 24 years & I never knew about it at all. As soon as I found out about it in late 2015, & researched into the ARC, I decided that I could no longer practice that religion. Obviously, I’m not to blame for something I never knew about.

I have since spoken to some “rank and file” members I used to know, & they have never even heard of the two witness rule being applied in child abuse cases. I also spoke to two witnesses who had been personally abused, or known someone who had been, and they had the false impression that the rule wasn’t used in child abuse cases anymore (I wonder who gave them that impression). So again, obviously, they cannot be held responsible for something they have been mislead about.

Yes, the elders are responsible, & so are any others who know about it. But in my experience, most JW’s are clueless regarding these matters..

When they did the TV show about the two witness rule, was it mentioned that it was applied in child abuse cases still, or did they fail to mention it? Not seen it myself as I have absolutely nothing to do with that cult anymore!

Jesus says in John 13:35, ‘ By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves.’ What will people think when they have discovered covering-ups of sexual abuse cases in many places. Besides, I know there are slanders among high positions such as branch committee members and the circuit overseers and elders in the congregation? When you disclose them, you are slandered too. What is the answer to the question: Are they true Christians?

There is much I could say here but to any jw who are reading ask yourself this one little matter. “Are they spiritually…mature”.
How can ones personal spirituality be so assessed. what does the wt mean by the much quoted term “spiritual”.? In my experience its assessed by what the person says at meetings, how they dress, footwear, hair, hemlines who they associate with at meetings hm hours ‘field service’ they put in. Every case that went before the ARC the offenders one of who was known to me
were the essence of dress grooming etc… spiritual?

Anyone who would have sympathy on jw’s has been really misled. They deceive people from the very first day they meet them. They could not have a trained conscience or they would not do this. They tell their recruits what they do is alright because they are “pleasing Jehovah”. If you even doubt anything they say, you’re told, “imagine how happy you would be making satan feel?” They think they are above the law! They make the elders out to be saints because they give talks, etc. and don’t get paid. The elders must have issues with wanting to be in charge of something because after being in this “male’s club” they certainly take their authority over the limits. And it’s all so they can get members to give $ so they can pay the bills at the kh and send the rest to watchtower so those jerks can live a privileged life. Why the government has allowed them to go on this long is beyond me. People need to be educated badly about this. They want to win a person over with their close fellowship, but at what cost?

Good points well expressed. The culture within the JW system is totally one sided in favour of paedophiles, self righteous perverts, and those males who love to lord it over others. Their systems are totally outdated and ineffective. The very culture of this group is dangerous to society in so many ways. Thanks for your efforts to expose this damaging cult.
